I moved on to Community Healthcare Clinics and I completed a master’s degree in Community Healthcare, specialising in Geriatric Care. During the outbreak of the pandemic, I provided nursing care in a Covid-19 ICU ward in Jeddah, KSA. Training and empowering people at different levels is a rewarding job that energizes me. The satisfaction and joy of equipping others with new knowledge and skills motivates me. To witness my students’ growth and progress, and what it does to their confidence and careers, makes me very proud to be part of their journey.

I gained experience in Geriatric care and worked as a Community Health Nurse in clinics from 1985 till retirement in 2019. I did a BA Cur (Admin and Education) through UNISA as well as a Diploma in Assessment, diagnosis, treatment and care. After retiring as a Manager Nursing Services I felt that I could still contribute to nursing in some way and do voluntary preventative care in a retirement village twice per week and started as an instructor for Survival CPR in March 2022. Sharing knowledge and empowering people is a passion.

In 1982, I became a nursing sister at H.F.Verwoerd Hospital. My nursing journey led me to spend around 2 years in operating theatres. After that, I spent a fulfilling 12 years at Medicross and followed that with 9 years working alongside Pathologists and private doctors. In 2022, I joined the incredible team at Survival CPR. My heart lies in helping the elderly, and being part of this team allows me to share my expertise. Seeing students gain confidence and grow through the knowledge I offer fills me with immense pride.
